[Okay so technically it wasn't an actual confirmation but it's been a few days already since she went looking for him and unfortunately she wasn't having much luck. She didn't want to admit or give up looking for him but people are said to disappear without a trace under the assumption they do go home so she was hoping that was what happened instead of something worse]
Leaving happens as randomly as arriving does so it's not like he had the chance to leave a note.
